Welcome to YMSL Lone Star

To assist, serve, and support those who are in need in our community.

Young Men’s Service League is a non-profit organization that initiates and encourages young men and their mothers to pursue philanthropic involvement in their community and provides an opportunity to enhance mother/son relationships.  Young Men's Service League has a National Board of Directors which governs and promotes the expansion of YMSL Chapters throughout the United States to allow young men and their mothers to assist, serve, and support those who are in need in their communities. YMSL members have served over 100,000 community service hours since the organization was founded in 2001.

YMSL Lone Star History

The Lone Star Chapter of YMSL was formed in 2005 under the National umbrella by a group of Trinity Christian Academy mothers who desired to work together with their teenage sons by serving along side them in the community. These mothers felt strongly about passing along to their sons a commitment to philanthropy, but they were also looking for a way to spend meaningful time with their teenage sons whose broadening interests took them away so frequently.  The Lone Star Chapter is currently comprised of 138 members with 145 sons in grades 9th through 12th.

Currently, the Lone Star Chapter serves 14 different philanthropies in Dallas, Carrollton, Plano and Frisco, Texas.  We feed the homeless and homebound at Dallas Life and Meals on Wheels, shake hands with the troops as they return from war, tutor children at Study Buddies and West Dallas Community School, play bingo with seniors at Walnut Place retirement home, assist at Metrocrest Social Services and Seven Loaves food pantries, assist with Children's Medical functions, care for animals at Operation Kindness, assist with Love For Kids events, build ramps for the handicapped, build homes with Habitat for Humanity and help special needs athletes participate in sports through Miracle League of Frisco.  We also participate in the Ultimate Gift Event, an annual philanthropy event organized by Nationals for all YMSL Chapters.
